Please don’t leave your child to explore Photopeach unattended  :)

The internet is a portal to the world outside. Children should be supervised.

2nd Class Room 6 wrote a Class Song

2nd Class Room 6 wrote a Class Song

The boys and girls in 2nd Class Room 6 love to sing.

They love Taio Cruz’s ‘Dynamite’

and the Minecraft version.

They based their class song on ‘Dynamite.’

Here it is:

We throw our hands into the air sometimes

Saying A-YO

Come on, let’s go

We want to celebrate

and live our lives.

Saying A-Y0

Come on, let’s go

We came to school, school, school, school,

We’re in the door

Cos we’re no fool, fool, fool, fool,

We’ll tell you more

and all our friends, friends, friends, friends,

are all so cool

Cos that that’s the rule, rule, rule, rule,

Yeah, Yeah

Cos it goes on and on and on

Yes work goes on and on and on

Yeah

We throw our books up in the air sometimes

Saying A-YO, come on let’s go.

We want to celebrate and live our lives

Saying A-YO

Come on, let’s go.

We’re going to rock this class

We’re going to work all day

When we’ve got it done

We can go and play.

Cos we’ve told you once

and we’ve told you twice

We’re going to rock this class

Like it’s dynamite

We want to work, work, work, work

But we can’t wait

Until class ends, ends, ends, ends

So we can go home

with all our friends, friends, friends, friends.

Put down your pens

And we will smile, smile, smile, smile

Yeah yeah

Cos it goes on and on and on

It goes on and on and on

Yeah

We throw up our pens up in the air sometimes

Saying A-YO

Come on, let’s go.

We want to celebrate

and live our lives.

 Saying A-YO

Come on let’s go

We’re going to rock this classl

We’re going to work all day

And when work is done

We will go and play

Cos we’ve told you once

and we’ve told you twice

We’re going to rock this class

Like it’s dynamite.

Next we are going to learn the song and make a podcast.

Practicing Songs for the Kilcoole Feis

There has been a buzz in the school and music in the air over the past few weeks as Ms. Ahern prepared a number of students to sing in the Kilcoole Feis. At home the children practiced diligently with the help of their parents.

Here is what we heard today when some singers from 3rd Class came sing in Room 6. They were getting practice singing in front of an audience and the children in Room 6 were very attentive.

I love my music !

Singing ‘Can you tell me the way to somewhere’ are some past pupils of Room 6: Aoibhin, Riona and Nadine.

Jessica sang ‘Humpty Dumpty’

Finally this is Alice singing ‘Can you tell me the way to somewhere’. Alice is in 2nd Class, Room 6.

We are lucky to have Kilcoole Feis in the locality and to have this opportunity to let our light shine!

A D.I.Y Recorder Concert for the Parents of 2nd Class, Room 6

Great work Abi!

Dear Parent,

Your child is going home with
their recorder
their music book ‘Recorder from the Beginning, Book 1’
and the cd from the back of the book.

We have been learning the recorder for six weeks.
Teacher thinks that Room 6 are a musical class.

Recorder class is often one of the most pleasant times of the day as we all work together to make music.

We hope you don’t mind too much that we haven’t been bringing our recorder home to practice!
Now we should be able to play you our repertoire using the backing track on the cd.

We should be able to play as far as the tune called ‘Chicka Hanka’
and perhaps ‘Chatter with the Angels’.
Certainly we should certainly be able to play: ‘Hot Cross Buns’.

Just in case this plan does not work out, this is Plan B.
Perhaps you would like to listen to a podcast of 2nd Class Room 6
playing a tune on the recorder.

Teacher feels that many of the children are playing ‘by ear’ very successfully
but between now and Christmas we will work on reading music.

Who knows what we might achieve by June!

Well done Owen.

We’ll Sing A Song To Brigid

St. Brigid is the patron saint of our school.

Every year as St. Brigid’s Feastday

(1st February) approaches

we practice singing

‘We’ll Sing A Song To Brigid’.

We have been singing this song since we were in

Junior Infants, so we know it well 😉

Legend says that angels sang over the place Brigid was born.
