‘The Sound Collector at the Swimming Gala’, by Laura E

Swimming!! Max Garçia via Compfight

A stranger called this morning

Dressed all in black and grey,

Put every sound into a bag

And carried them away.

The whistling of the coaches,

The beeping of the buzzer,

The splashing of the water,

The cheering of the crowd,

The yawning of tired parents,

The sipping of the coffee.

The rubbing of the towels,

The packing of leaving people,

A stranger called this morning.

He didn’t leave his name,

Left us only silence,

Life will never be the same.

Work done with Ms. Kelly.
