Today we listened to a beautiful song:
‘Winter Song’ by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson
‘Winter Song’ was familiar to many of the students
because it is currently being used in an often repeated
advertisement on the television.
We studied the lyrics.
We used our imagination
and we sketched some pictures
that the lyrics put into our heads.
Then we took a look at a
wonderful animation on Vimeo
to inspire us even further.
‘Winter Song’ by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson
Initially we used white chalk
on black sugar paper.
Then we added colour.
This is what we did:

A Word to the Wise:
Please don’t leave your child to explore Vimeo or Photopeach unattended
The internet is a portal to the world outside. Children should be supervised.
I loved my cousin Jack’s picture on the Winter Song. I liked the colours. It’s obvious the children took their time. I liked the ‘name bugs’ art. The pattern looks nice. I saw my work from last year. Keep up the good work 2nd Class Room 6.
I liked the pictures on the Winter song. The colours are good.
I think the pictures are very colourful. It looks like the children used pastels and after that they rubbed the pastels. They turned out well.
Getting better Room 6. You are nearly as good artists as we are.
Thank you Luke, Cian and Paris for your comments. We are glad you liked our pictures. Cian you were right. We used pastels and blended them. There were lovely colours in the pastels box and when you blended them they look even nicer. It was good you could see the work you did last year. We will try and keep up the good work.
