What is Class Dojo?

Some parents have heard about Class Dojo from their children and were wondering what it was about.

Class Dojo is an online behavioural chart.  We used it last year in Room Six and found it helpful.

Where behaviour is concerned I would like to focus on the positive and ‘catch the children being good’.

We would all like a Happy Class.

A Happy Class does need rules and boundaries.

Kind Words Make The World Go Round

Julia’s poster.

Every month the whole school reviews a school rule:

The first school rule is

‘Respect: Kind hands. Kind feet. Kind words’.

We made posters for a school wide competition:

Posters on the theme of ‘Kind Words Make The World Go Round’:

This week was Anti Bullying Week, Term One

We have renamed it, more positively:

‘Be A Good Friend Week’.

Rebecca’s colourful poster.

Can you spot your masterpiece? on Photopeach. Adult supervision of children on the internet is always necessary.

Teacher found this useful website when she was preparing this theme:

A Website about Getting Along

AnswerGarden: Give some examples of ‘kind’ words.

We are doing a whole school poster competition.

We have to design a poster about good behaviour in school.

The theme is:

Respect:

Kind Hands

Kind Feet

and Kind Words.

As part of Anti Bullying Week

a.k.a ‘Be Kind and Be a Good Friend Week’,

we were talking in school about kind words.

These are the ones we thought of.

John Paul did very well.

He thought of five phrases

and John Paul’s first language is Spanish.

Well done John Paul!

We used ‘Answer Garden’ to record the words we thought of.

An Online Behaviour Chart :)

Since the first of September I have learned that the children in Room Six have lovely manners. They work well and are very helpful. They are kind to one another and to teacher. Where behaviour is concerned I would like to focus on the positive and ‘catch them being good’. I am very enthused by new concept in behaviour charts: an online one! It is called ‘Classdojo’. I intend using it from tomorrow 12th September 2011. There is a review of this website here:
