‘The Sound Collector in the Haunted Hills’, by Jamie C.

La Luna Werner Wilmes via Compfight

A stranger called this morning

Dressed all in black and grey,

Put every sound into a bag

And carried them away.

The ticking of the clock,

The creaking of the floor,

The shaking of the house,

The banging of the door.

The creaking of the church bell,

The growling of the bears,

The scraping of the knife,

The running up the stairs.

A stranger called this morning.

He didn’t leave his name,

Left us only silence,

Life will never be the same.
