‘The Sound Collector at the Farm’ by Ryan

Peaceful Country Hindrik Sijens via Compfight

A stranger called this morning

Dressed all in black and grey,

Put every sound into a bag

And carried them away.

The mooing of the cow,

The clucking of the hen,

The oinking of the pig,

The barking of the dog.

The bleating of the sheep,

The singing of the birds

The quacking of the ducklings,

The screeching of the gander,

A stranger called this morning.

He didn’t leave his name,

Left us only silence,

Life will never be the same.
